  • Author: Sophie
  • Total Time: 2 hours 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

Tender, flavorful Chinese BBQ Riblets glazed with a sticky, tangy sauce perfect for any gathering or cozy night in.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs pork riblets
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 1 teaspoon five-spice powder
  • 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • Optional: 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon chili paste
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon oyster sauce

Instructions

  1. Rinse pork riblets under cold water and pat dry. Trim excess fat and place in a large bowl.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix soy sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, five-spice powder, and red pepper flakes to make marinade.
  3. Pour marinade over riblets, coat well. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  4. Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C). Line a baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top.
  5. Place riblets on rack and reserve marinade. Bake for 2 to 2.5 hours, basting occasionally with reserved marinade.
  6. Broil riblets for 3–5 minutes until caramelized. Watch closely to avoid burning.
  7. Let rest a few minutes, then garnish with green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

Marinate overnight for deeper flavor. Do not overcrowd the baking sheet to ensure even cooking. Keep a close eye during broiling to avoid burning.
