  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: 1 carrot, julienned
  • Optional: 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • Optional: 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon chili sauce

Instructions

  1. Wash the Chinese cabbage thoroughly and chop into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Prepare any optional add-ins such as carrots or bell peppers.
  3. Mince the garlic and mix the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and sugar in a bowl.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a large wok or skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Add garlic and stir-fry for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  6. If using, add optional vegetables and stir-fry for 2–3 minutes until they begin to soften.
  7. Add chopped cabbage and stir-fry for 5–7 minutes until wilted but still slightly crisp.
  8. Pour in the prepared sauce and toss to coat evenly.
  9. Season with salt and pepper, stir-fry for another 2 minutes.
  10. Drizzle with sesame oil, remove from heat, and serve immediately.

Notes

Avoid overcooking to maintain a slight crunch in the cabbage. Prep all ingredients beforehand, as stir-frying is a fast process.
