Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×9 inch baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix melted butter and sugar until well blended.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla, beat until smooth.
  4. Sift in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Stir until just combined.
  5. Fold in optional add-ins like nuts or chocolate chips if desired.
  6. Pour batter into prepared pan and spread evenly.
  7. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  8. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
