  • Author: Sophie
  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

Tender beef dim sum infused with aromatic spices, delicately wrapped and steamed to perfection a delightful homemade twist on a classic favorite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 500g ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 package wonton wrappers
  • 1 egg, beaten (for sealing)
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon chili paste
  • Optional: 1/4 cup water chestnuts, finely chopped
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon fresh cilantro, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, soy sauce, oyster sauce, garlic, ginger, green onions, and sesame oil. Mix until well combined.
  2. Add any optional ingredients like hoisin sauce, chili paste, water chestnuts, or cilantro and fold them in.
  3. Lay wonton wrappers on a clean surface. Prepare a bowl of water for sealing edges.
  4. Place a teaspoon of beef mixture in the center of each wrapper.
  5. Brush edges with water or beaten egg, fold over to form a half-moon, and seal tightly. Pleat edges if desired.
  6. Place dim sum in a parchment-lined steamer basket in a single layer.
  7. Steam over boiling water for 8–10 minutes, until wrappers are translucent and beef is cooked through.
  8. Serve hot with soy sauce, chili oil, or your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

Avoid overfilling the wrappers. Use fresh wrappers for best texture. Marinating filling enhances flavor. Do not overcrowd the steamer for even cooking.
