  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Green onions for garnish
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon chili paste
  • Optional: 1 cup broccoli florets
  • Optional: 1 carrot, julienned
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine sliced beef with soy sauce and cornstarch. Mix well and marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Slice the bell peppers and prepare garlic and ginger.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  4. Add marinated beef in a single layer. Cook 2-3 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, sauté garlic and ginger for 30 seconds.
  6. Add bell peppers and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes.
  7. Return beef to skillet. Add beef broth, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, and sesame oil. Stir to coat evenly.
  8. Simmer for 2 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  9. Garnish with green onions and optional sesame seeds. Serve hot over rice or noodles.

Notes

Slice beef against the grain for tenderness. Use a high smoke point oil for stir-frying. Don’t overcrowd the pan; cook in batches for best browning.
