  • Author: Sophie

  • Yield: 6 servings 1x
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

A creamy, tangy Greek dip made with Greek yogurt, cucumber, garlic, and fresh dill perfect as a dip, spread, or sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups Greek yogurt (preferably full-fat)
  • 1 cucumber, peeled, seeded, and finely grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon fresh mint, chopped
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon red wine vinegar
  • Optional: Pinch of cayenne pepper

Instructions

  1. Peel, deseed, and finely grate the cucumber. Squeeze out excess liquid using a cheesecloth or clean kitchen towel.
  2. Mince the garlic cloves finely.
  3. In a medium-sized bowl, combine Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, and chopped dill.
  4. Mix thoroughly until well-combined. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Optional: Add fresh mint, red wine vinegar, or cayenne pepper to adjust the flavor.
  6. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.

Notes

Use full-fat Greek yogurt for the best texture. Always drain cucumber thoroughly to avoid a watery sauce. Refrigerating enhances the flavor.
