Description
A creamy, tangy Greek dip made with Greek yogurt, cucumber, garlic, and fresh dill perfect as a dip, spread, or sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 1/2 cups Greek yogurt (preferably full-fat)
- 1 cucumber, peeled, seeded, and finely grated
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: 1 tablespoon fresh mint, chopped
- Optional: 1 teaspoon red wine vinegar
- Optional: Pinch of cayenne pepper
Instructions
- Peel, deseed, and finely grate the cucumber. Squeeze out excess liquid using a cheesecloth or clean kitchen towel.
- Mince the garlic cloves finely.
- In a medium-sized bowl, combine Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, and chopped dill.
- Mix thoroughly until well-combined. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Optional: Add fresh mint, red wine vinegar, or cayenne pepper to adjust the flavor.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
Notes
Use full-fat Greek yogurt for the best texture. Always drain cucumber thoroughly to avoid a watery sauce. Refrigerating enhances the flavor.
